Jessica Lall was a model and budding television presenter from New Delhi who was shot dead on April 29, 1999 while serving as a celebrity barmaid at a socialite party at the Tamarind Court in the city. Witness accounts accuse one Manu Sharma, the son of a rich Congress politician from Haryana. The trial went on for more than seven years in which Manu Sharma and a few others were acquitted on February 21, 2006. Manu Sharma was given a life sentence. At last, the beautiful model achieved justice. This was one of the most shocking case of misuse of power and politics in recent times.

Jessica Lall was born on January 5, 1965 to May Lall and Ajit Lall.

Jessica was a model and an aspiring television presenter. She was quite popular in elite parties and get-togethers.
Later Life:
As per her friends, Jessica was a lively and energetic person. She was a party animal and on that fateful night of April 29, 1999, she was the celebrity bartender at the Tamarind Court where a bash was organized by socialite Bina Ramani. When she refused to serve drinks to Manu Sharma (Siddhartha Vashishta), son of Congress politician Vinod Sharma, Jessica was shot dead at point blank range.
Jessica Lal’s mother May Lal passed away due to cancer a few years after Jessica’s murder. She didn’t live on to see justice being served. Unfortunately enough, Jessica’s father Ajit Lal too died of brain stroke some years later. Jessica’s sister Sabrina Lal runs a travel agency in New Delhi.
